PPP Counters Unimpressive PDM Show in Karachi

Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah organized a khuli kutchery in the metropolis while PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari continued his visit to interior Sindh with landing in Tando Allahyar on Sunday

After a long gap, Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) staged a power show in Karachi that Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) countered with indulging among the masses.

PDM staged a public rally at Bagh-e-Jinnah in Karachi to revive the anti-government movement.

The public meeting of the opposition alliance came a few days after the PTI-led government highlighted its three-year performance.

PDM announced to stage a long march on Islamabad once again after failing to do so in February.

The leaders of PDM lampooned the incumbent government and criticized the high inflation, rising unemployment, and break in development.

They also hit at PPP which was earlier part of the alliance.

While addressing the rally, PDM Chief Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman said Pakistan has continued to regress when other countries are progressing.

He termed the incumbent government as illegal, having no real mandate and assuming powers through bogus votes.

PML-N President and Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly (NA) Shahbaz Sharif also addressed the gathering.

Obliquely hitting at PPP, Shahbaz said Karachi, a city ruled by PPP-led provincial government for over 10 years, has long been neglected.

He recalled the time when Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) government restored the peace in the megacity and shattered fear.

Meanwhile, the PPP-led provincial government countered the PDM rally by indulging among masses on the same day.

Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah organized a khuli kutchery in Karachi, an activity rare to the citizens in over a decade of the rule of the party.

Besides him, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari also continued his visit to interior Sindh with landing in Tando Allahyar on Sunday.
