Salary protests at Geo News; Anchors with huge salaries are also worried

The employees of the country’s largest media house Geo News are protesting across the country in favor of the demands of 150% increase in salaries, timely payment, provident fund, and gratuity.
Employees of the country’s largest media house, Geo News, have continued their protest for a 150% increase in salaries and timely payment in line with the increasing inflation in the country.
Journalists and employees associated with “Jio News” including anchors who receive millions of rupees per month are also participating in the protest, including Abdullah Sultan.

Among the protesting employees are female anchor Huma Ameer Shah and anchor Muhammad Junaid. The aforementioned Huma Amir Shah receives a monthly salary of Rs 12 lakh from Geo News while Abdullah Sultan’s is Rs.

Anchor Muhammad Junaid also receives a salary of lakhs of rupees, but due to the rising inflation in the country, media workers who receive salaries of lakhs of rupees are also worried.
Addressing the protesting employees, Muhammad Junaid demanded the management of Geo News to provide facilities to the low paid employees first as inflation has tripled.

Bureau Chief of Geo News Karachi and General Secretary Karachi Union of Journalists Faheem Siddiqui said that we want Jang and employees of Geo News to be paid on time.

Executive Producer Newsroom Hasnain Azhar said about the pressure of work that taking extra work from people in executive position has increased the difficulties which is not morally permissible.
