Several transgender persons gathered outside Karachi Press Club (KPC) to demand their rights uniquely.

On September 19, several transgender persons were attacked by a group of men, also known as ‘beelas’ in their community.
They had gathered to celebrate the birthday of one of the community members at a farmhouse in Karachi when the incident occurred.
The attackers also assaulted Dr Muhammad Moiz who had been invited to the party as a guest.
Moiz had been vocal about the rights of the transgender community in Pakistan and has often talked about it on his social media handles.

During the KPC protest, the transgender persons demanded to arrest the beelas involved in the September 19 attack.
On the other hand, the transgender persons gathered in Karachi also called for the provision of other rights such as jobs in public offices under fixed quotas to those who are educated and possess relevant skills so they can earn their livelihood in a respectable manner.
Back in October 2019, the Sindh cabinet decided to allocate a 0.5% quota in public sector jobs for the community members.
While talking to News360, the founder of Gender Interactive Alliance (GIA) Bindya Rana reminded the Sindh government to honor their promise.
They also urged the higher authorities to provide proper and affordable healthcare facilities to the trans people.
