Steady Pressure From PTI Forces Changes in Sindh Cabinet

PTI pressure sindh cabinet

Daily Pakistan

The steady pressure by PTI on the Sindh government has forced some changes, although cosmetic, in the cabinet.

The Sindh government has decided to make some major shuffles in the provincial cabinet and new faces will become part of the government.

Sources said three ministers and an adviser including Nisar Khuhro and Sohail Anwar Siyal will be removed.

Arbab Lutfullah, who is the nephew of Arbab Ghulam Rahim, is also likely to get a portfolio, sources told News360.

It could be assumed as a counter move as Prime Minister Imran Khan had appointed Arbab Ghulam Rahim as his special assistant on Sindh affairs last week.

The government has also decided to remove Saeed Ghani as the education minister while Nasir Shah will lose the portfolio of information.

The provincial government is deliberating to make Sardar Shah the new education minister while Saeed Ghani is likely to become the information portfolio.

Taimur Talpur and Islam Rahu will lose the portfolios of agriculture and information technology (IT) respectively.

The new inductees in the cabinet will include Jam Khan Shoro, Giyan Chand and Zia Abbas.

The fresh changes are being seen as the activism of Sindh government after receiving constant pressure from PTI government.

The ruling party in the center has established governments in all provinces as well as other administrative units of Pakistan except for Sindh where Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) is ruling for over a decade.

Imran Khan met with the lawmakers of Sindh on Wednesday and directed them to expedite work on all projects under federal government. Along with it, it has also decided to wipe off dacoits from the province with the assistance of federal security agencies.

PTI government has also decided to launch a crackdown on criminal elements in Sindh as well as to curb smuggling of narcotics.

The party has also decided to partner with the political giants in the province to increase its influence.
