Suleman Shehbaz rejects accepting Imran Khan popularity, says elections to expose truth
PML-N leader Suleman Shehbaz has rejected to accept PTI chief and former premier Imran Khan a popular leader in Pakistan.
Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) leader Suleman Shehbaz has rejected to accept Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief and former premier Imran Khan a popular leader in Pakistan.
Suleman Shehbaz, while talking to the Geo News programme Jirga hosted by Saleem Safi yesterday, claimed that Imran Khan is not the most popular leader and he will find out the truth after going amongst the nationals.
“عمران خان کی خام خیالی ہے کہ وہ عوام میں مشہور ہیں۔۔۔”

He also claimed that he had predicted earlier that the political alliance between PTI and Pakistan Muslim League Quaid (PML-Q) will not last long as Imran Khan had once told Pervaiz Elahi big dacoit.
To a question related to the dissolution of the assemblies, Suleman said that they are confident to go to the fresh elections. He added that a constitutional process will be adopted if the assemblies are dissolved by the PTI chief. He said that the country needs stability these days.
Analysts said that Suleman’s claims are weak as Imran Khan is still among the nations, organising and interacting with the people and political personalities almost every day and making advancements in its strategies. On the other hand, Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) parties are reluctant to organise fresh elections, the long-standing demand of the PTI chief.
They questioned Suleman to tell the reason for not announcing fresh elections if they are confident enough to contest ‘unpopular’ Imran Khan in the electoral battlefield who had recently won the majority of seats in the by-polls instead of just making claims of winning the elections.
It is pertinent to mention here that the PTI chief Imran Khan had announced the dissolution of the Punjab and KP assemblies on December 23.
The ruling Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) parties were pushed into a blind alley again after Pakistan Muslim League Quaid (PML-Q) swear allegiance to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan despite the harsh statements of Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi.
Analysts said that the top PDM leaders’ attempt was to focus on the interview given by Pervaiz and bring him back to their camp, however, this did not happen and Moonis immediately reached Khan’s residence to assure their cooperation.
