Swat Police Rescued Minor Girl From Being Given in ‘Swara’
A case was registered against 17 participants of the Jirga organized to authorize the deal while booking 14 among them
The police in Lakhar village in Swat raided a local Jirga, booked 14 suspects including the father and rescued a minor girl who was to be given in Swara.
The police conducted a raid in the Lakhar area of Swat on the Jirga site, rescued the six-year-old S*, and booked the suspects.
A case was registered against 17 participants of the Jirga organized to authorize the deal while booking 14 among them.
As per details, the locals of Lakhar village in Swat lodged a complaint against the Jirga organized to lead the practice in Khursheed Shah Khan Saheed police station.
The complaints told the police that the six-year-old S* was being given in Swara by her family to settle a dispute.
The victim’s family members as well as the opponents were among the participants of the Jirga.
As the information was received, Swat District Police Officer (DPO) Dilawar Khan Bangash issued orders to Upper Swat SP Farmanullah Khan and Khwaza Khail DSP Aijaz Haroon to arrest the suspects.

Following the directives, the police conducted a raid and booked 14 suspects who participated in the Jirga.
The suspsects include Rahimzada, Umarzada, Ikhtiarmand, Muhammad Naseeb, Ashiqzada, Fazal Nawab, Shehmad Khan, Muhammad Hussain, Hussainzada, Omar Syed, Sir Buland and Aasalzada.
The Swat police rescued the minor girl from being given in Swara to opponents and took her into custody.
A first information report (FIR) has been registered against 17 suspects while raids are being conducted to apprehend those who had fled.
