Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) has found evidence of links between Indian intelligence agency, RAW, and Anees Advocate and it is being contemplated that his past would keep hunting him.

Anees is now a part of Pakistan Sarzameen Party (PSP) but he had remained associated with proscribed Muttahida Qaumi Movement – London Group (MQM-L) for years before it got banned.

In a presser on Tuesday, CTD DIG Omar Shahid said that militants of MQM-L made confessions and took names of some former members involved in unlawful activities.

In light of the investigation, CTD recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition from Mirpur Khas.

DIG said that the founder of MQM-L, Altaf Hussain, was planning to send young boys from Sindh to India.

He added that some suspects they held have even admitted visiting India for militant training at the behest of the party’s founder.

Omar Shahid told that the suspects were to smuggle arms and other equipment across the border while they were also trained to ride camels in the deserted areas.

The CTD official said that they have found solid evidence against Anees Advocate, who was an integral part of MQM-L and later joined PSP.

He added that party official was responsible for sending young boys from Sindh to India for militant training.

Anees Advocate would be summoned in a couple of days for investigation, he told the presser.

Earlier, CTD had summoned the former MQM-L member over allegations of links with Indian intelligence agency, RAW. Anees Advocate had albeit said goodbye to now-proscribed outfit but political observers believe that his past would keep hunting him.
