The shameful incident of Masjid-e-Nabavi PBUH’s desecration by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) activisits and supporters has drew ire of the nationals in Pakistan and from other parts of the world.

Other than netizens, clerics and prominent personalities are condemning the desecration of one of the holiest sites for Muslims, Masjid-e-Nabavi PBUH.

Renowned cleric Maulana Tariq Jamil, former skipper of Pakistani cricket team Shahid Afridi and Mohammad Yousuf have expressed their sorrow over the Masjid-e-Nabavi PBUH incident in which PTI workers and supporters raised political slogans against the government delegation led by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif yesterday.

Maulana Tariq Jamil wrote on Twitter that the desecration of Masjid-e-Nabavi PBUH in the name of a protest was completed an un-Islamic act which should be condemned.

Former star batsman, Mohammad Yousuf said in his tweet that he had never visited Mecca and Medina before embracing Islam. He expressed his feelings after visiting Khana-e-Kaaba, Masjid al-Haram for the first time and said that he started crying after visiting Roza-e-Rasool PBUH.

Yousuf said that after watching today’s episode at Masjid-e-Nabavi PBUH, I want to seek mercy from Allah Almighty on behalf of the whole Ummah.

Shahid Afridi shared a photo of Masjid-e-Nabavi PBUH on Twitter and said that it is the most sacred place whether raising loud voice is also prohibited. He added that the people forgot to respect the sacred place just to exhibit their political enmities and violated the sanctity of Riasat-e-Madinah.

The star all-rounder expressed sorrow over the major dent to Pakistan’s reputation.

Yesterday, Pakistan’s political conflict reached Medina as a group of pilgrims surrounded, manhandled the government delegation and chanted slogans against Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in one of the holiest sites of Muslims, Masjid-e-Nabavi Peace Be Upon Him (PBUH).

It may be noted here that PM Sharif along with a government delegation arrived in Medina yesterday to perform Umrah during his Saudi Arabia visit where he will also meet the top leadership of the Kingdom.

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) faced backlash from the nationals for the disgraceful act of its activists at the holiest site of Masjid-e-Nabavi PBUH which attracts Muslims from all parts of the world without any political or ethnic discrimination.

Nationals took to social media platforms to condemn the shameful act of PTI activists and supporters at the Masjid-e-Nabavi PBUH. ‘#توہین_مسجد_نبوی_نامنظور’ [No to disrespect of Masjid-e-Nabavi PBUH] became a top trend on Twitter to condemn the incident.
