Attacks repulsed in Balochistan’s Panjgur and Nushki, 4 terrorists killed: ISPR

Terrorists carried out separate attacks on security forces camps in Balochistan’s Panjgur and Nushki.

The security forces repulsed separate attacks carried out by terrorists in Balochistan, Panjgur and Nushki, on Wednesday late evening, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a media statement.

Terrorists carried out separate attacks on security forces camps in Balochistan’s Panjgur and Nushki that have been successfully repulsed while inflicting heavy casualties to terrorists.

The military’s media wing said that terrorists attacked security forces’ camp in Panjgur from two locations. However, timely response by troops foiled terrorist attempt, whereas, one soldier was martyred during the intense exchange of fire.

The terrorists fled while their casualties are being ascertained, said ISPR.

In Nushki, terrorists attempted to enter Frontier Corps (FC) camp which was promptly responded to by the security forces, killing four terrorists while two officers were injured during the shootout. According to ISPR, ‘intermittent firing’ was continuing in Nushki.

Prior to the ISPR statement, the spokesperson of FC troops had confirmed two blasts followed by firing near the security forces’ camps at Panjgur and Nushki.

The banned Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) claimed responsibility for the attacks.

Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed said in a statement that nine terrorists have been killed in Panjgur and four soldiers were martyred. An operation is still underway to clear the area from the terrorists, he added.

Prime Minister Imran Khan said in a Twitter message, “We salute our brave security forces who repulsed terrorist attacks against security forces’ camps in Panjgur & Naushki, Balochistan. The nation stands united behind our security forces who continue to give great sacrifices to protect us.”

The latest terrorist attack was carried out in Balochistan after 10 soldiers were martyred in an attack on a security check post in Kech district in the last week of January. The ISPR had confirmed that the terrorists conducted a fire raid on the night of January 25-26.
