PSL 6 Early Call-Off And Its Financial Cost
The cricket board has started reimbursement of sold tickets of postponed matches
The early call-off of Pakistan Super League (PSL) 6 did not just leave the fans in a disappointment but there is a huge financial cost for the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
PSL 6 has been postponed after the tally of coronavirus mounted with violations of biosecure bubble’s protocols and six players of different teams returned positive.
PCB has started reimbursement of sold tickets of postponed matches.
While talking to media, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Bookme.pk, Faizan Aslam, explained how the cricket fans could get a reimbursement.
There will be no requirement of going anywhere as the refund would be completely online.
“We have the record of ticket buyers, their number, and money transfer details. They will start getting their money from today onwards”, CEO said. However, the process will take almost a week.
Financial Cost of PSL 6 After Early Call-Off
PCB and PSL franchises had spent heavily in the tournament and teams respectively.
Besides this, the television channels had created special sets for coverage of the tournament too.
The financial loss to be incurred with the postponement of PSL 6 has not been disclosed yet by the cricket board. However, it would certainly be huge.

When the coronavirus hit PSL 5 last year, PCB Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Wasim Khan claimed the magnitude of monetary damage to be around whopping Rs 200 million under gate money and other earnings.
Although PSL 5 was resumed late last year to finish off remaining part, the income remained far below expectations if the tournament had been conducted uninterrupted as the entry of spectators was banned due to the coronavirus precautions.
