Top slot of PCSW still vacant
PCSW chairperson has not been appointed for three years and seven projects of the institution were closed.
The appointment of the chairperson of the Punjab Commission on the Status of Women (PCSW) has not been made for three years and seven projects of the institution were closed.
According to the sources, PCSW Chairperson Fauzia Waqar was dismissed in 2019 before her contract expired, after which seven projects were closed due to the non-appointment on the top slot, whereas, other projects were also facing delays.
Sources added that five divisional coordinators were working instead of nine members of the commission.
Women Development Department Secretary Sumaira Samad said that some powers are vested only in the chairperson, therefore, the projects have been stopped.
