Pakistanis have been falling prey to frauds and swindling by unregistered companies and social media apps for ages and finally, Chairman Senate Sadiq Sanjrani took notice of the issue.

The Senate Secretariate sent a letter to Interior Secretary Yousuf Naseem Khokhar and a copy was mailed to Director General (DG) Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) as well.

Chairman Senate also ordered the Securities & Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP), State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), and finance division to investigate the matter.

“Taking cognizance of the complaints and media reports regarding some unlawful and unregistered companies and mobile Apps, which are operational in Pakistan and involved in suspicious and fraudulent activities, the Honorable Chairman Senate directed to probe into the matter”, the letter holds.

The letter also states that the chairman sought a comprehensive report from the concerned quarters to curb the menace.
