Dishonest Policeman Cleans Cash Counters of a Dairy Shop

The shopkeeper asserted the cop robbed around Rs 250,000 from different cash counters

A bizarre instance of robbery occurred in Karachi where a policeman cleaned the cash counters of a dairy shop in the Korangi area when the shopkeeper was held by the district administration.

The policeman assisting the price control committee and assistant commissioner (AC) in a raid committed a robbery as he plundered the cash counters of a dairy shop.

The closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage of the illicit activity was provided by the shop owner to the police.

The footage showed that when the district officials held the shopkeeper and took him outside, a constable grabbed the opportunity and plundered the cash counters.

He picked a handful of notes and put them in his pocket. It was visible in the video that a few notes fell off his hands which he picked up.

A police spokesperson said that all four police personnel accompanying the district officials have been suspended.

They include Head Constable Tariq Abbasi and constables including Zeeshan, Waqar Baig and Amir Khan.

A case has also been registered against the personnel in the Korangi Industrial area police station.

The shopkeeper asserted the cops robbed around Rs 250,000 from different cash counters while the police officials denied it and said that they only recovered a few thousand rupees from the suspects.

The probe into the matter is underway.
