A photo of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has gone viral on social media who is currently visiting Samarkand – Uzbekistan to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit and held several bilateral meetings with member states.

The viral photo showed PM Shehbaz Sharif standing among the global leaders looking at him. The ruling Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) social media activists tried to make an impression that PM Sharif became the centre of attention amongst the global leaders during SCO, however, the reality was something else.

After another video of the occasion surfaced on social media, it emerged that the global leaders and PM Sharif were attending an informal dinner at the Cultural-Ethnographic complex in Samarkand.

It showed that the global leaders were looking at PM Sharif to invite him to have some food on the occasion.

PM reaches Congress Centre

PM Shehbaz Sharif has arrived at the Congress Center Samarqand to attend the annual meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), according to Radio Pakistan.

Leaders of SCO members and observer states as well as heads of SCO organizations and other special guests would attend the meeting.

The SCO leaders will deliberate on important global and regional issues, including climate change, food security energy security, and sustainable supply chains.

They would also approve agreements and documents that would chart the future direction of cooperation among SCO member states.

Meanwhile, the Prime Minister held a meeting with the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev in Samarkand today and discussed bilateral relations.

Shehbaz Sharif will also meet Chinese President Xi Jinping and President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

Before concluding his visit, the Prime Minister will also pay a visit to the tomb of Imam Bukhari.
