The Akra Parchi dealer refused to give the prize money and shred the token to pieces

A gambler staged a unique protest outside Sanghar Press Club as he won a lottery in Akra Parchi, a form of gambling, but was denied the prize money. The lottery-winner demanded the police to get him the prize delivered as he finally won it by luck after several attempts.

The gambler purchased a token worth Rs 100 and won Rs 8,000 prize money in lucky draw.

However, the Akra Parchi dealer refused to handover the prize money and shred the token to pieces.

The lottery-winner Jabba told he got tired of trying his luck and finally won Rs 8,000. He has also demanded the police to get him his ‘deserved’ prize.

Meanwhile, News360 learned that Akra Parchi activities run under the supervision of the police in Sanghar.

The dealers have established gambling dens in shops across the city.

However, the police have turned a blind eye to it and illegal activities are being carried out under its nose.

The locals said that illegal gambling activities were also in full swing during the lockdown and the police took no action despite complaints.

In this regard, Assistant Commissioner (AC) Arshad Ibrahim Siddiqui said that taking action against gambling dens was not his domain.
