War of words between Senator Faisal Vawda and senior journalist Matiullah Jan advanced as the journalist put the same old question before Vawda once again but surprisingly received a reply that settled the previous score.
After becoming a Senator in March, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) lawmaker appeared before the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) in the dual-nationality case.
Background
Faisal Vawda had filed his nomination papers in general elections 2018 when he was still a US national. However, he later gave up his foreign citizenship after his nomination papers were approved by ECP.

Where did it begin?
Faisal Vawda engaged in an altercation with the journalist when he was repeatedly questioned about the date he surrendered his US nationality.
When the question was put before Vawda by Matiullah, he turned angry and censured the reporter and did not refrain from calling him a propagandist.
“You go and post a video on your Youtube channel against me after adding condiments”, PTI official told the reporter.
Later on his Twitter handle, Senator also shared a video of the incident and vowed to expose vultures of fake news like Matiullah Jan.
Vawda settles score
In another recent video surfacing on the internet, Faisal Vawda encountered the same question from the same journalist.
This time, instead of fuming, the Senator responded rather placidly.
Faisal Vawda asked Matiullah Jan for disclosing the reason why he was rusticated from Pakistan Military Academy (PMA) when he was a cadet.
