The bright idea
The lawmaker said that PTI lawmakers would assemble on the city’s main thoroughfare Shahrah-e-Faisal after the deadline of June 4 set for KWSB.
He added that the protest would continue until the issue is resolved.
Attaullah criticized the Sindh government for consistently cold-shouldering Karachi.
He said that the media was yelling, people were yearning to get water but all of it had not been enough to move obstinate provincial government.
He demanded that Karachi must be given under the governance of the federal government so that the federation could solve the megacity’s problems directly.
Walk-out in protest
Ataullah said he, along with Jamil Ahmed Khan from NA-237 and Faheem Khan from NA-241, sought time to speak on the call-to-attention notice in the lower house to discuss water dearth in Karachi in the session held on May 22.
However, Amjad Khan Niazi, who was chairing the session, turned down their request to speak on the matter.
Consequently, all three members staged a walk-out from the assembly as a protest but were recalled later and Ataullah was given a chance to speak.
