Why ‘Thappar Sharif’ trending on Twitter?

Thappar Sharif, Twitter trend, slap incident at PMO

A Twitter trend ‘#تھپڑ_شریف’ [Thappar Sharif] has surprisingly surfaced after some journalists claimed that someone was slapped at the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) on Friday night.

Nobody knew the exact development, however, some journalists claimed that an individual was slapped at PMO and later the trend of Thappar Sharif appeared on Twitter.

Imran Riaz Khan said on Twitter that it was reported earlier that former prime minister Imran Khan had been attacked on the last day of his rulership and now it is being said that PM Shehbaz Sharif was targeted. He said that such reports are planted to spread fear.

The journalist said that no one has the right to commit torture or hooliganism.

Another journalist Sami Abraham tweeted, “Who was subjected to torture and why? Does this happen in Prime Minister’s House?”

Siddique Jan posted a satirical tweet and said that the drama started in April but the slapping incident occurred in November.

Mughees Ali reported the same incident in another way.
