Zohaib Hassan, the brother of late pop icon Nazia Hassan, has accused his then-brother-in-law Ishtiaq Baig of feeding his sister with something that proved fatal.
Singer Zohaib Hassan in a statement recorded under oath in London maintained that he is not leveling allegations but articulating what Nazia had written about Ishtiaq Baig before her death.
He also accused the ex-husband of mistreating his sister.

However, News360 got hold of Nazia Hassan’s death certificate which says that she died a natural death.
On the other hand, after the allegations, Ishtiaq Baig is all set to file a defamation case against Zohaib Hassan.
Baig was of the view that Zohaib never wanted Nazia to get married to anyone and his ex-brother-in-law is doing all to tarnish his reputation.
Nazia died on August 13, 2000, in London from lung cancer at the age of 35 while today is her 20th death anniversary as well.
While exclusively talking to News360, Ishtiaq Baig disclosed that Zohaib is a friend of Zahir Jaffer, the killer of Noor Mukadam.
Besides this, he added that Zohaib’s mother, Moniza, is the best friend of Zahir Jaffer’s mother, Asmat Adamjee.
“At a time when Noor Mukadam murder case is concluding soon, opening Pandora’s box on a non-issue is to divert the attention of the media from the case”, he said.
Recently, another family friend of Zahir Jaffer’s mother held a conference after the bail plea of the suspect’s parents was rejected by the court.
Amid accusations that surfaced on social media, users are also of the view that reopening Pandora’s box after two decades of Nazia’s death is incomprehensible.
On contrary, several social media users also opined that Zohaib must prove his claims if the pop icon’s death was actually a murder.
On the other hand, a few netizens are taking it as a publicity stunt by Zohaib Hassan as he remained hushed for years after the death of his sister.
They said that he has started leveling accusations against Ishtiaq Baig just to get some media attention.
