Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) has allegedly organised dance performances of local artists during electioneering ahead of by-polls as some videos have surfaced on social media.
It is pertinent to mention here that PML-N leader and husband of the party’s vice president Maryam Nawaz, Captain Retd Safdar had criticised the female activists of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in a public gathering for attending late-night rallies.

On the other hand, PML-N has itself organised stage dance performances in the corner meetings in different constituencies to engage locals during election campaigns of the by-polls. The dance shows raised questions about whether PML-N leadership will take notice and stop these activities in accordance with Capt Safdar’s point of view.

Analysts said that Captain Retd Safdar committed character assassination of PTI women activists, on the other hand, he turned a blind eye over late night dance shows in PML-N corner meetings.
They said that PML-N top leaders should take notice of such statements from some leaders to refrain them from doing character assassination of women.
