General Elections should not be delayed at any cost; PPP

Pakistan Peoples Party top leadership also reiterated that there should be no delay in the date of general elections as per the constitution.

Pakistan People’s Party Core Committee meeting was held on Friday evening at Zardari House Islamabad which was jointly chaired by President of Pakistan People’s Party Parliamentarians Asif Ali Zardari and Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.

Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani, Syed Nair Hussain Bukhari, Naveed Qamar, Raza Rabbani, Qamar Zaman Kaira, Sherry Rehman, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, Shazia Atta Murri, Nisar Khoro, Muhammad Ali Shah Bacha, Humayun Khan, Faisal Karim were present in the meeting. Kundi, Akhunzada Chitan, and Farhatullah Babar participated.

In a statement, Secretary General of Pakistan People’s Party Parliamentarians Farhatullah Babar said that it was emphasized in the meeting that closing the doors of negotiations does not solve any problem. For this purpose, the party has decided to contact all the parties involved in the coalition government and take a common position on the point of negotiation among the political parties.

According to Farhatullah Babar, the party said that there are several reasons for the current crisis, one of which is the mystery that the minority decision of the court prevailed over the majority decision. This position has no legal, moral and political justification and should be reconsidered.

He said that it is very important that the reputation and honor of the judiciary should not be allowed to be tarnished. For this, it is important that the issue of conflicting decisions of the judiciary be resolved immediately. The party believes that elections to all assemblies should be held on the same day for free and fair general elections as stipulated in the constitution.

Farhatullah Babar has said that the party also reiterated that there should be no delay in the date of general elections as per the constitution.
