Former Prime Minister and Chairman Tehreek-e-Insaf Imran Khan has expressed his concerns regarding life of well-known journalist and anchor person Imran Riaz Khan and said that he is afraid that his situation may not be like that of Arshad Sharif.

Addressing workers of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) through a video link, Imran Khan said I feel fear regarding Imran Riaz. Court is repeatedly saying that it should be produced but it is not being produced. I am afraid he has been tortured too much. Either he did not survive the violence. And if he is alive, he is not in a condition to be produced in court. If court sees him, he will definitely question him, so he is not being produced in court.

Former Prime Minister Imran Khan expressed his concerns and said that I am afraid that he might not be alive. I want to say to entire journalistic community that reaction that should have come from you on death of Arshad Sharif has not come before. Now, if you people do not take a stand on the issue of Imran Riaz, then it will be anyone’s turn next.

Addressing well-known journalists, Imran Khan said today I want to say to those journalists, who used to talk big that Imran Khan is being very strict, Imran Khan is shutting journalists’ tongues, where are they today?

He said, I say to journalistic community that just compare, what is difference between our era and this era? Has this ever happened to anyone? There were two incidents during our tenure but first I took action. Matiullah Jan was our opponent, but day I found out he had been picked up I immediately asked for his release.

He said that we have never taken any action against anyone which is happening today. Mueed Pirzada ran out, Sabir Shakir ran out, Aftab Iqbal ran out of the country, and TV channels have been shut down, why are we not being given live coverage? Because TV only sees one thing, viewership.
