Khan refuses to meet FIA team over ‘anti-state social media post’

Former prime minister Imran Khan has refused to meet with the Federal Investigation Agency team over the ‘anti-state narrative’, which the latter claims was shared from the former’s social media account.

Sources within the jail told Aaj News that Khan has declined to answer any questions from the FIA’s Cyber Crime Wing.

On Wednesday, the wing that deals with the growing threats of cybercrimes sought permission from the judicial magistrate to interrogate the Adiala Jail inmate for sharing “anti-state activities” and “anti-state narratives” on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter.

The institution has claimed the content was allegedly shared from Khan’s profile.

Khan is serving out his sentences in the cypher and the iddat cases at the Punjab’s jail. On Thursday, he appeared through a video link in the Supreme Court in the National Accountability Bureau law amendment case.
