Talking about her favorite poet, Maryam Nawaz said that she likes Irish poet Shamsini, whose poems of freedom give her strength. Talking about Urdu literature, Maryam Nawaz said that during her imprisonment, she agreed to read Urdu literature and in jail. He read all the novels and poetry books in the library. Maryam Nawaz said that he has read Ahmed Faraz with passion, Sahir Ludhianvi, Parveen Shakir and Amjad Islam Amjad too.

Maryam Nawaz said that she has also read many philosophers and not only read but also tried to apply their philosophy in her life. She also claimed to read Francis Bacon and Nietzsche with great interest.
