Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf comes out in defense of judiciary

Senior PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry says contempt of court petition will be filed against Information Minister Maryam Aurangzeb for making a statement against judiciary

Senior Vice President of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and former Federal Minister Fawad Chaudhry has said in a press conference yesterday that Tehreek-e-Insaf is standing with judiciary, and there is an attempt to divide Supreme Court, if this happens then Constitution of Pakistan will be dissolved.

PTI’s senior leader Fawad Chaudhry expressed these views in a meeting of the party’s core committee chaired by Chairman Tehreek-e-Insaf Imran Khan at Zaman Park last day. Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, Aleem Adil Sheikh, Sheikh Rashid, Sabatin Khan, Asad Umar, Ejaz Chaudhry, Shafqat Mehmood, Mian Aslam Iqbal, and other important personalities were also present on this occasion.

In the meeting, it was decided to give tough time to the government to increase pressure for elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab.

Informed sources claimed that some party leaders suggested that President Arif Alvi be advised not to sign the judicial reform bill.

While giving a press conference, Fawad Chaudhry said that the core committee of PTI has established a two-member committee headed by Shah Mehmood Qureshi. According to Fawad Chaudhry’s announcement, PTI Vice Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Pervaiz Elahi have been assigned the task of contacting other like-minded political parties of PTI to ensure a level playing field for all.

Referring to the statement of Federal Information Minister Maryam Aurangzeb, in which she said, “We will not accept the decision of this three-judge bench.” Fawad Chaudhry announced that a contempt of court petition will be filed against Information Minister Maryam Aurangzeb this week.

The leader of Tehreek-e-Insaf said that an attempt is being made to damage the Supreme Court of Pakistan, an attempt is being made to malign the honor of the Chief Justice, pressure is also being put on the judges, but Tehreek-e-Insaf is standing with the judiciary. It was and will remain.

Criticizing Nawaz Sharif, the PTI leader said that political dwarfs have been challenging the courts and the system. The constitution of the bench is the prerogative of the Chief Justice and it will stand like a leaden wall for the dignity of the Chief Justice.

He warned that threatening the Supreme Court at the behest of a fugitive criminal would not be tolerated. Fawad Chaudhry said that we want Nawaz Sharif to return, not to go to jail but to return the looted money.

Referring to revenge politics, Fawad Chaudhry said that 143 cases were registered against Imran Khan, in such a situation matters cannot move forward.

The PTI leader warned that the caretaker Punjab government’s authority would expire after April 13 and the KP government would not be able to function after April 18. He asserted that if these caretaker provincial governments remain in power, Article 6 will apply.
