After today’s verdict of the Supreme Court of Pakistan (SC), the Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has announced to end the Jail Bharu movement across the country.

Former Prime Minister and Chairman Tehreek-e-Insaf Imran Khan had announced the launch of Jail Bharu Movement on February 17 after the governors in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa announced that they would not give election dates. Punjab Assembly and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly were dissolved on January 14 and 18 respectively.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s Jail Bharu movement was launched from Lahore on February 22, when PTI’s senior leadership Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Asad Umar and other leaders along with the workers were arrested. Later, police authorities shifted Shah Mehmood Qureshi to Attock Jail while Asad Umar was transferred to Rajanpur Jail.
