Drone Deliveries in Israel Bump up Air Traffic

Daniella Partem, who leads the drone initiative at the Israel Innovation Authority, said that drone deliveries can make the environment better, and can reduce pollution

Israel, which is considered a drone powerhouse, has currently been using the technology to make deliveries of daily household items like Sushi, ice cream, and soft drink cans.

However, experts have raised concerns over the growing risk of collisions.

In a bid to develop a network for the deliveries, the government has set up a National Drone Initiative.

An official of High Lander, a company that specializes in traffic control for autonomous drones, said that flying one drone is not an issue but now the problem is about the multi drones.

“We are talking about multi drones… coming from different drone manufacturers, but still they are monitoring with our software and we can make sure they don’t collide”, he added.

On the other hand, Daniella Partem, who leads the drone initiative at the Israel Innovation Authority, said that drone deliveries can make the environment better and reduce pollution.

“If we manage to remove vehicles from the roads to the air, we can affect traffic, we can reduce air pollution… we can create a better, safer environment for the delivery of goods”, the official added.
