Huawei Conquers Gulf Despite All Odds in West

Chinese telecom giant Huawei is enjoying in Gulf nations as consumers are preferring it over other brands

Chinese Multinational Technology Company Huawei has been gaining popularity in the Gulf countries after struggling in the west and giving a tough time to the South Korean Samsung. 

Previously, Huawei has been facing sanctions imposed by Former United States President Donald Trump over the past few years.

The company has been accused of hacking into the systems of western governments, prompting several European countries including the US to declare it a threat to national security.

Britain and Sweden have completely banned the use of Huawei equipment in their 5G networks whereas France has also imposed restrictions.

Although Gulf countries including Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have not only chosen Huawei for their 5G network, they have also partnered for the development of ‘smart cities’ with the company.

Despite all deterrents in the west, the popularity of Huawei in term of its products and services are escalating day by day in the Gulf countries.

Various Gulf countries, including Saudi Arabia and the UAE are not only choosing Huawei for their 5G networks but are also entering into various agreements with the company for technological advancement.

Charles Young, Head of Huawei in the Gulf, said after gaining the trust of partners in the Middle East, the company has been able to reduce external political pressure from the US.

Saudi Arabia has confirmed the collaboration with the network for launching Huawei’s largest store in Riyadh.

With such technological advancements, Huawei has thrown a tough competition at Samsung in the Middle East.
