Instagram Rolled Out Home-Screen with Reels in the Center

WEB DESK: Instagram redesigned it’s home-screen bringing out Reels and Shops to the center.

The features have now dedicated tabs that can be accessed right from the home screen.

Compose button and Activity tab have been relocated to the top-right of the home screen.

The Reels feature was rolled out globally in August followed by Shops that have been under testing for a few months.

Reels is the feature allowing to upload up to 30-seconds short videos, a take on TikTok.

The tab opens up a single reel at a time which can be changed by swiping up and down, similar to how TikTok works.

According to Instagram’s Director of Product Management, Robby Stein, they are trying to make this update easy to use the expanded products available on Instagram while maintaining simplicity.
