Tug of war between different messaging platforms as WhatsApp comes up with a controversial privacy policy and Signal, Telegram and other apps are trying to be giant magnets to attract more users to increase numbers.
A surge has been recorded in downloads of different cross-platform messaging apps and Signal is not behind in the race as it received a pat from Tech-giant Elon Musk.
On its official Twitter account, Signal compared the number of downloads that jumped from 10 million to 50 million with a celerity that probably the new privacy policy by WhatsApp provided it.
As WhatsApp comes up with a controversial policy, there has been an increase in the users of Signal and Telegram and they are not shy of sharing it.

Amid privacy woes, other cross-platform messaging apps like Telegram are in the race too.
