Now Twitter Users Can Mint Money With ‘Super Follows’

The microblogging site announced new features including super follows, auto-blocking and mute to ensure privacy and provide paid opportunities to users

The micro-blogging giant Twitter announced some upcoming features including Super Follows, auto-blocking, and auto-mute to improve the experience of their users.

Twitter launched these new features and products in order to refresh its business after years of stagnation and aims to double its annual revenue by the year 2023.

The payment feature, named Super follow will be a paid subscription-based model, where the users have the right to charge their followers for access to additional content.

This will also include access to bonus tweets, community groups, and subscriptions to a newsletter and etc.

Twitter shared a screenshot as an example where the user will be able to charge $4.99 per month to receive perks.

The purpose of this feature is to let creators and publishers get paid directly by their fans.

Nowadays, direct payment tools have great significance across the world.

After an American membership platform named Patreon has been successful, other platforms including Facebook, YouTube, and even GitHub have all launched direct creator-payment features.

Apart from Super Follows, Twitter also announced a new feature called ‘communities’ which appears to be something like Facebook groups.

In addition to it, Twitter is also planning to introduce features such as automatic blocking and muting abusive accounts that practice insults, name-calling, strong language, or hateful remarks.

According to the officials, the new safety mode will detect the accounts that are acting abusive or spammy and after supervision of a week, the action will be taken accordingly.

Previously, the network had struggled to initiate new features over the years to help reduce offensive content on its platform.

Some automated tools introduced by the company will assist people to hide their replies and let users control who can reply to an individual tweet.

Singer, Meesha Shafi took to her Twitter handle and asked her followers to ‘Super Follow’ her for paid content.
