US Space Mission: ‘Perseverance Rover’ Landed on Mars

US space agency NASA tweeted first images of the second-smallest planet in the Solar System 'Mars' as Perseverance Rover safely landed

United States (US) space agency has tweeted the first images of its space mission Perseverance Rover after it landed on the second-smallest planet in the Solar System ‘Mars’ and the space mission will spend 2 years.

The US space agency, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), had launched another robotic mission named Perseverance Rover to the fourth planet in the solar system ‘Mars’.

An official of the US space agency said that the purpose of sending a robotic mission to Mars is to find traces of life.

The mission Perseverance Rover has been lowered into a deep pit called Jezero near the planet’s equator.

Scientists and engineers in NASA’s mission control room in the US state of California were overjoyed when the robot successfully landed on Mars.

According to a NASA spokesman, the six-wheeled robot will now drill into the rocks in the crater for at least two years to gather evidence of life in the past.

Experts believe that “Jezero had a huge lake billions of years ago, which increases the chances of life there.”

Scientists researching the Red Planet quoted that they will be able to bring rock samples from Mars to Earth by the year 2030.

Followed the landing, the spacecraft had also tweeted its first images from the planet Mars.

The mission controllers received a precautionary landing and safety signal.

According to a statement issued by a NASA official, this robot is the second ‘rover’ weighing one ton landed on Mars.

Over the next few weeks, engineers and scientists will check the rover’s system to see if it has been damaged by difficult landing conditions.

Adam Steiner, the Rover Mission’s Chief Engineer added that he wanted to build a robot that was faster than Curiosity.

He explained that there were “vanity facts” on the surface of Mars that damaged Curiosity’s wheels. Adam Steiner said Perseverance will be a resourceful choice to perform well on sharp stones and sand.

Observers of space missions around the world can expect to see better photos and videos this time around.

More than 20 cameras and two microphones had been installed on the surveillance mission. Two cameras are on a small helicopter that will try to fly in the desolate climate of Mars.

This is NASA’s first space mission that landed on Mars since Viking Lander in the 1970s.
