Differently-Abled Youngster Becomes Epitome For Beholders

Adnan, a blind youngster making chairs all day long with a graduation degree in hand and family responsibilities on shoulders has been an epitome for the beholders.
Living with an impairment is a huge challenge for individuals in a society with a number of misconceptions connected with the illness.
Mostly, the blind community members feel that with the condition it is almost impossible to carry on life like a normal person but Adnan, pushing away the barriers, has been trying hard to lead his life.
To seek halal sustenance, the youngster despite the disability has been making chairs for the past 11 years.
“It takes around three to four hours to finish a chair”, Adnan explained.
Working hard to sell chairs being a bachelor’s degree holder that too with a physical impairment hasn’t saddened the youngster and he seems content with his achievements.
Though, the differently-abled youngster has a few complaints with the government over the non-provision of proper facilities for the disabled in Pakistan.
“If the government wanted, people like me could have been better individuals in the society”, he claimed.
Adnan further maintained that the government should provide better opportunities to visually impaired skilled people to alleviate their problems.

“Promises were made while legislation for the disabled has not been enacted in three years in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP)”, differently-abled youngster added.
The situation of visually impaired people in Pakistan is depressing with almost no support from the government.
As per sources, the laws for differently-abled in KP have been delayed for three years.
On the other hand, the Chief Minister KP had announced to increase the quota of disabled people last year, however, the announcement has not been materialized so far.
According to official figures, at present, around 145,000 handicapped people in KP have been deprived of proper benefits due to legal reasons.
