Foreign Graduate Sets up Mobile Coffee Shop in Lahore

It has been only a week in the business and the young entrepreneur is overwhelmed by the response

A Pakistani youngster who could not find a job despite holding a foreign degree launched his mobile coffee shop in Lahore.

Agha Ali went to Malaysia where he completed a four-year degree in Management of Hospitality and Tourism after completing his college in Pakistan.

He is a resident of Lahore’s Gawalmandi area.

After landing back in Pakistan, Agha had to struggle to find a job despite a professional degree.

After remaining jobless for weeks, he started working as a waiter in a coffee shop in Lahore.

However, this decision changed Agha’s fortune as the coffee shop was the place where the idea of starting his own business clicked his mind.

Agha now runs sells coffee on his mobile coffee unit which stations in Lahore’s Gulberg area.

While talking to News360, the young entrepreneur told that a person could only fulfill needs with a job, not his desires.

He told that he initially opened a “Coffee Tea” shop in Lahore’s Iqbal Town.

However, the coronavirus pandemic hit the country, and Agha was affected like many others.

But despite difficulties, Agha did not strive to find a job but he started a coffee shop in his vehicle with limited resources.

“I completed all homework in 15-20 days and decided to convert my car into a mobile coffee shop”, he added.

Agha was a bit lucky that he already owned a car and had the equipment he purchased for his Coffee Tea shop.

“ The people who go to branded shops in Gulberg are coming to me”, he exclaimed.

Requirement of capital

Regarding the capital required to start a mobile coffee unit, Agha Ali said that it cost him around Rs 700,000 as standardized machines and equipment were essential for making tasty coffee.

Most of the international brands are selling coffee at more than double the price of what he offers. Agha claims that he offers the same taste and quality at cheaper rates.

Future Plan

The young coffee-maker has plans to expand his business.

“ Previously, I was an employee myself and now I am an employer of four”, he added jubilantly.
