KP Initiates Production of Organic Fertilizers From Waste
The concept of organic fertilizer in Pakistan is almost hypothetical and non-existent
Organic fertilizers are the products of natural decomposition and very healthy for agriculture and plantation. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has initiated the production of organic fertilizers from waste in Mardan, Pakistan for the first time in history.
The project has been launched by the KP government in the Mardan district to make organic fertilizers from the waste. The center for the production of fertilizers has been set up with a cost of Rs.200 million.
For the purpose of production, around five tons of garbage will be collected daily from the streets and markets of the neighboring areas.
The collected garbage will be kept in the production center for around 45 days after processing it from various stages.
After this period and treatment, the waste will naturally convert to organic fertilizer.
The concept of organic fertilizer in Pakistan is almost hypothetical and non-existent. With the initiative of this project in Mardan, the conversion of waste to organic fertilizer can be very helpful for the environment and agriculture in Pakistan.
