Being introduced in Pakistan in 1962 by Korean Consulate, Taekwondo, commonly dubbed as the sport for males in the country but the notion was proved inexact by female Taekwondo player Nazia Ali.

The national player who hails from Chamkani, Peshawar, has been involved in the sport for the last seven years and has a victorious career throughout.

Nazia Ali joined the sport for self-defense and later participated in a number of tournaments and won several medals and awards.

Additionally, Nazia is serving as a coach as well and paving way for Taekwondo aspirants keen to learn the sport.

While talking to News360, the national player maintained that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province is filled with talented girls who can earn fame with their skills in the sport.

“Parents are also willing to teach Taekwondo to their daughters so they can safeguard themselves better”, she added.
