Reminiscing 1992 World Cup memories, Wasim hailed Lara’s effort for holding the shoe this long even after years of retirement.
Akram took to his Twitter handle and shared Brian’s photo, who is holding the shoe with the toe region completely worn out.
The Prince of Trinidad never ceases to amaze, years after retirement from the game! We met at a charity and he brought this shoe with him to make sure I would sign it – he’d held on to it since 1992 WC when I hit him on the toe (after he got 88!) Pakistan played against West Indies in the 1992 World Cup at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on February 23, where Pakistan notched up 220 for 2 wickets in 50 overs but West Indies won.
Pakistan’s former speedster Wasim is labeled as one of the finest bowlers of his time who ended almost a two-decade long glorious career with 414 Test and 502 ODI wickets.
His skills are still a nightmare for many as during a recent Instagram Q&A session, Indian skipper Virat Kohli expressed that Wasim Akram would be that bowler from the past who could have challenged him.
