‘Asian Bradman’ Zaheer Abbas hospitalised in London
Pakistan’s former ace batsman of his generation, Zaheer Abbas, who is also known as ‘Asian Bradman’, was shifted to the ICU of a London hospital.

Pakistan’s former ace batsman of his generation, Zaheer Abbas, who is also known as ‘Asian Bradman’, was shifted to the intensive care unit (ICU) of a London hospital a few days after he tested positive for COVID-19 when he was travelling from Dubai to London.
According to reports, he has been admitted to Saint Mary’s Hospital in Paddington, in the City of Westminster in London. He was initially put on oxygen support and later he was shifted to the hospital after his condition worsened.
He also complained of kidney pain and was diagnosed with pneumonia after he arrived in London. Geo News reported that he is currently on dialysis and the doctors have advised him to refrain from meeting people.
Abbas had made his international debut in 1969 against New Zealand and was one of the best batters of his generation. He had scored 5,062 runs in 72 Tests, while he scored 2,572 runs in 62 ODIs.
His first-class cricket batting stats are incredible with 34,843 runs in 459 matches which included 108 centuries and 158 fifties.
After retirement, he also served as an ICC match referee in one Test and three ODIs. He was also inducted into the ICC Hall of Fame in 2020 alongside Jacques Kallis and Lisa Sthalekar.
Cricket fraternity prayed for the quick recovery of the legendary cricketer.
