Babar Azam Proves Why he is on the Top of The World

Pakistan’s skipper Babar Azam just climbed to the top spot in the ICC Men’s ODI ranking, a dream which he has waited for long since he grabbed the cricket bat.
Babar is the fourth Pakistani batsman to achieve it after Zaheer Abbas, Javed Miandad, and Mohammad Yousuf.
Pakistani skipper surpassed Indian skipper Virat Kohli to jump to No.1 spot in the ODI ranking who had retained the position since October 2017.
International Cricket Council (ICC) honored him by putting his photo as its cover on the official Twitter handle.
In the third T20I against South Africa, he scored the first ton of his T20I career and gave his team a lead of 2-1 over Proteas in the four-match series.
He is the first Pakistani captain to score a T20I hundred and third Pakistani batsman to do so after Muhammad Rizwan and Ahmed Shehzad.

Rise in ODIs
The batting sensation made his ODI debut in Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium on May 31, 2015.
He scored a fifty on his debut and marked a statement in the cricketing world.
He was named the captain of the national team after the World Cup 2019. In the first six ODIs as captain, Babar scored 50+ scores four times at an average of 89.80.
He averages over 56 in ODIs which is the third-highest career batting average in the game’s format.
He is the 3rd fastest to reach 1,000 runs, 2nd fastest to score 2,000, and 3rd to get to 3,000 ODI runs.
Pakistan’s skipper is also in the club of batsmen who have hit three consecutive tons in ODIs.
