Pakistan cricket team’s skipper Babar Azam said in a statement that Imran Khan is his role model as a captain and he is trying to follow in his footsteps the way he built the Pakistani team during his captaincy tenure.

Ahead of the Pakistan-West Indies series, Babar Azam was quoted by journalist Arfa Feroz Zake, “You’ve to give regular chances to players to bring consistency in the team and you can see consistency in Pakistan. Number one players in ICC rankings give motivation to other teammates. There’s alot of unity in Pakistan. My aim is to make Pakistan number 1 in the world”

“My cover drive is a natural shot in my gameplay but I’ve worked hard on it. Cover drive was my favorite shot since beginning but I’ve practiced almost ten years to excel and bring improvement in it.”

The journalist said that Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) commence main camp for ODI series against West Indies from June 1 onwards but the camp has been shifted from Rawalpindi to Lahore. The camp will include 16 member squad of Pakistan including players featuring in county championship.
The Pakistani skipper said, “We had planned to play competitive cricket and give tough time to every team in recent T20 WorldCup 2021 & the same planning we will implement in upcoming T20 WorldCup 2022 in Australia. I’m hopeful Pakistan will play good cricket in upnext T20 WorldCup 2022”
