Arshad Nadeem won the first athletics gold medal for Pakistan after 60 years at the Commonwealth Games, before that Pakistan won the gold medal in the athletics category at the Commonwealth Games in 1962 and after 1966 Pakistan won the Commonwealth Games athletics category. I did not get any medal.

Arshad Nadeem of Pakistan threw his career best throw of 86.81 meters in the first round as the final of the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham started. Arshad Nadeem’s previous best throw was 86.38 meters. But he remained on top due to his best throw of 86.81 in the first attempt.
Javelin thrower Arshad Nadeem improved his national record in the third round, he threw 88 meters in the third round while Arshad threw 85.09 meters in the fourth round.

On the other hand, the Pakistan Sports Board announced a prize of Rs 50 lakh for Arshadandim for winning the gold medal for Pakistan in the javelin throw competition of the Commonwealth Games.
