NZ Calls Off Pakistan Tour at Eleventh Hour

The tour between Pakistan and New Zealand has been canceled after the Kiwi team claimed it received security threats.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has issued the official statement and confirmed that the tour has been called off.

The toss of the first game was scheduled at 2 pm while it was supposed to commence at 2:30 pm at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

Sources said that Kiwi intelligence agency conveyed the security threat to New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern.

Prime Minister Imran Khan contacted New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern but the tour was still called off.

The security officials with the NZ team have been satisfied with security arrangements made by Pakistan’s government throughout their stay here, PCB said in its tweet.

Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid will hold an important press conference at 4 pm.
