HBL PSL 8: Peshawar Zalmi defeats Karachi Kings by 2 runs

In chasing of Peshawar Zalmi's target of 200 runs, Karachi Kings managed to score 197 runs in 20 overs, Imad Wasim's innings of 80 runs off 47 balls, Tom Koehler scored 92 runs and declared man of the match

In the second match of HBL PSL 8, Peshawar Zalmi defeated Karachi Kings by 2 runs after a thrilling match.

Karachi Kings team could score 197 runs in the allotted overs in pursuit of Peshawar Zalmi’s target of 200 runs.

In the match played at the National Bank Cricket Arena in Karachi, Karachi Kings captain Imad Wasim won the toss and decided to field. Zalmi scored 199 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

On behalf of Peshawar, Tom Koehler Cadmore scored 92 runs and Babar Azam scored 68 runs. Mohammad Amir and Imad Wasim proved to be the most expensive bowlers for Karachi. Aamir gave 42 runs in 4 overs and could not take a wicket, Imad gave 42 runs in 3 overs and did not take a wicket. Mir Hamza, Andrew Tye, Imran Tahir and Ben Cutting took one wicket each for Karachi.

Karachi Kings made a disappointing start to the innings in pursuit of the target of 200 runs and 4 players returned to the pavilion for 46 runs. Sharjeel Khan was out without scoring any runs, Matthew Wade 23, Qasim Akram 7 and Haider Ali 12 runs.

Later, Shoaib Malik and captain Imad Wasim scored 131 runs in the fifth wicket partnership, but Malik was caught out after scoring 52 runs.

Imad Wasim fought the Peshawar bowlers till the last ball, but could not win the team and in the last over, the Karachi team lost by 2 runs after a sensational match.
