HBL PSL 8 Qualifier: Sultans beat Qalandars to make it to the finals
Lahore Qalandars collapsed to 76 runs in chasing of Multan Sultans 161 run target, Karen Pollard declared best player of the match for scoring a brilliant half century

HBL PSL 8 Qualifier, Multan Sultans thrashed defending champions Lahore Qalandars by 84 runs and became the first team to make it to the finals.
Chasing the target of 161 runs by Multan Sultans, the entire team of Lahore Qalandars was bowled out for 76 runs.

In the match played at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, Multan Sultans captain Muhammad Rizwan won the toss and decided to bat first. Mohammad Rizwan and Usman Khan started the innings on behalf of Multan Sultans, but Qalandars looked helpless in front of the slow bowling of Lahore Qalandars bowlers.

Multan suffered a loss for 53 runs when Usman Khan, the fastest century scorer in PSL, scored 29 runs off 28 balls and was bowled by Haris Rauf.

Riley Russo could only score 13 runs while Mohammad Rizwan was bowled by Rashid Khan after scoring 33 runs off 29 balls, but he managed to cross the milestone of 500 runs in PSL 8. Kieron Pollard scored 6 off 34 balls. Played an innings of 57 runs with the help of sixes, while Tim David was not out by scoring 22 runs. Multan Sultans scored 160 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in the scheduled overs.

On behalf of Lahore, Haris Rauf bowled brilliantly and dismissed 3 players, while Zaman Khan and Rashid Khan got one wicket each, captain Shaheen Shah Afridi lost his wicket by giving 47 runs in 4 overs.

Chasing the target of 161 runs, Lahore Qalandars had a disappointing start to the innings and opener Agha Tahir was dismissed for a total score of 15 runs. But Fakhar Zaman was also clean bowled by Anwar Ali.

Shaheen Shah Afridi was also caught off Cottrell’s ball for 28 runs while Hussain Talat was run out for 41 runs and thus half of the Qalandars team returned to the pavilion in the tenth over.
Sikandar Raza was caught out by Kieron Pollard at the hands of Abbas Afridi while Sam Billings was the victim of Ehsanullah after playing 19 runs off 27 balls, Rashid Khan also returned to the pavilion without scoring any runs.

David Wesa could only score 12 runs while Haris Rauf scored 15 runs, Sam Billings scored 19 runs from Lahore Qalandars and Sheldon Cottrell scored 3 from Multan Sultans, Osama Mir scored 2 while Anwar Ali scored 12 runs. , Abbas Afridi, Ehsanullah and Kieron Pollard dismissed one player each.
Multan Sultans have reached the final after winning the qualifier match of PSL 8, while the winner of the first eliminator between Islamabad United and Peshawar Zalmi will play the second eliminator on Friday and the winner of this match will play on Sunday. will face Multan Sultans in the final.
