Are Sources of Journalists Credible Than Personal Claims?

Twitter witnessed the fight between Cricketer Fawad and Journalist Shoaib Jatt, who questioned him for credible sources for covid-19 results

After the Pakistan Super League (PSL) postponed due to an increase in coronavirus cases among the players, sports journalists are trying to prove which player has been tested positive using their credible sources.

Recently, Sports Journalist Shoaib Jatt took to his Twitter handle and announced that Pakistani Australian Cricketer, Fawad Ahmed, was tested covid-19 positive.

In response to it, Fawad questioned the journalist for spreading fake news.

Shoaib seconded his tweet and wrote that the sources in Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had confirmed the information and wished the player a speedy recovery.

While replying to Jatt, the 39-year cricketer questioned the source from the journalist and added that his first test returned negative while he was awaiting result of second.

Ahmed also suggested the journalist change his sources and find more credible ones.

Shoaib heated the argument by adding that he was quite certain about his sources and welcomed him to his ‘source club’.

Moreover, Jatt tweeted the results of Fawad Ahmed’s all coronavirus tests.

While an ongoing dispute on Twitter between sports journalists and cricketer continued, Australian Journalist Dennis Freedman jumped in and trolled professionalism being practiced by Shoaib Jatt.
