WEB DESK: Botham family in England is carrying the legacy of producing sportsmen representing the county at national levels as Ian Botham’s grandson has made it to Wales Rugby team.
After English cricketing legend Sir Ian Botham, his son and grandson, Liam and James respectively, followed his footsteps but in different sports disciplines.
Ian Botham’s grandson James Botham has made his Wales debut in the Autumn Nations Cup game against Georgia.
This is the third generation of the former English cricketing achieved the feat of playing at national level sports teams.

James Botham, the grandson of former English cricketing legend, was called to the Wales rugby squad ahead of Autumn’s Nations Cup.
The 22-year-old elevation to the national level is an inarguably a testimony of Botham’s legacy.
Ian’s Son Liam Botham
Liam, Ian’ Botham’s son, made his first-class cricket debut.
However his career trajectory surprisingly changed.

In 1997, he joined Rugby Union Club West Hartlepool as a fullback. 
It has slightly different rules than Rugby Union.
In 2005, he announced his retirement from rugby at the age of 27 after a neck injury.
Liam remained involved in three different sporting disciplines. He played as a cricketer, Rugby Union player, and Rugby League footballer.
Liam’s son James also chose rugby as a career. He played for Welsh Rugby Union Team, Cardiff RFC, and has now been call-up to Wales National team.
