Jose Mourinho Fired After 24 Hours Tottenham Joins ESL
Tottenham removed the coach when the team is all set to face Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final on April 25
English club Tottenham fired coach Jose Mourinho on Monday just after 17 months he assumed the charge. The surprising move has come right after the club announced to join European Super League (ESL).
The Portuguese assumed the position in November 2019.
According to the reports, Mourinho had not conducted team’s training session too.
The staff of Mourinho including Joao Sacramento, Nuno Santos, Carlos Lalin, and Giovanni Cerra has also been laid off by the football club.

Tottenham removed the coach when the team is all set to face Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final on April 25. However, in the English Premier League, they stand seventh and club officials linked Mourinho’s sacking with poor results.
Several fans of the club believe that he was legitimately sacked but others are linking it with the breakaway proposed tournament.
A former striker of the club, who is a presenter at Match of the Day aired on BBC, tried establishing a connection between both developments that have occurred in a span of 24 hours.

Meanwhile, the new proposed league has dimmed the future of European football and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have also shared their concerns about ESL.

As the issue is ballooning, UK Prime minister Boris Johnson will meet representatives of football’s governing bodies on Tuesday.
Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, Tottenham, AC Milan, Atletico Madrid, Barcelona, Inter Milan, Juventus, and Real Madrid are among the football clubs to be part of the European Super League with others in the pipeline too.
