Young fast bowler Mohammad Abbas, who completed 500 wickets in first-class cricket and the statistics proved him as one of the best bowlers, should not go down the drain due to negligence of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

Pakistan’s fast bowler Mohammad Abbas, endowed with qualities of impressive bowling speed and excellent line and length, is one of the unfortunate players who was expelled from the team for just one below-the-mark performance.

Even in the presence of a number of non-competitive players in the team, Mohammad Abbas wasn’t rendered a chance again.

Mohammad Abbas proved his talent in first-class cricket and became the 21st Pakistani bowler who completed 500 wickets.

He completed his 500th wicket by bowling out James Bracey of Gloucestershire while representing Hampshire in the English County Championship on Sunday.

Additionally, Abbas has taken a 5 wicket haul in 36 innings and 10 wicket haul in 11 matches.

It is pertinent to say that the highest wicket-taker in first-class cricket is the incumbent Prime Minister and former captain Imran Khan who had taken 1,287 wickets.

Whereas former captain Wasim Akram took 1,042 wickets, Sarfraz Nawaz 1,005, Waqar Younis had taken 956 wickets, Yasser Arafat 790, and Abdul Rauf 695 wickets.

On the other hand, the performance of Mohammad Abbas in test cricket also remained outstanding as he has so far taken 84 wickets in 40 innings of 23 test matches.

His best figure in test cricket is 33-5 runs while his best performance in a match 95-10.

His bowling average is 22.80 and the economy rate is 2.4 while the strike rate is 56.40.

Mohammad Abbas has multiple times proved his exceptional skills and PCB should consider him worthy for the national cricket team once again.
