A glimmering tournament comes to an end as Multan Sultans emerged as the champion of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 6 after beating Peshawar Zalmi by 47 runs in the final. Batting first in the biggest game of the event, Multan Sultans played like heavyweights since the start.

Sohaib Maqsood and Rilee Rossouw scored the fifties with celerity, 65 of 35 balls and 50 of 21 balls respectively, and registered a mammoth total of 206 for Peshawar Zalmi to chase.

In response, the Yellow Storm abated and could hardly drag themselves to 159 for the loss of 9 wickets in 20 overs.

Shoaib Malik remained the highest scorer from the chasing side with 48 on 28 balls followed by Kamran Akmal who scored 36 on 28.

Leg-spinner Imran Tahir took 3 for 44 and Blessing Muzarabani and Imran Khan took 2 wickets each to make their side lift its maiden trophy.

The exuberant captain of Multan Sultans, Mohammad Rizwan, hoisted the trophy for his team and emotive scenes were witnessed as he was joined by his teammates.

Peshawar Zalmi’s owner Javed Afridi also felicitated the opponents on winning their maiden title.

Sohaib Maqsood bagged the man of the match award while Shahnawaz Dahani was named the best emerging player.

Dahani remained the highest wicket-taker in the tournament as he sent 20 players to the pavilion and paid for the trust his team had put on him.

The undulate road of the hard work certainly resulted in something that he would have probably dreamt of.

Dahani not just made millions of new fans but he also left the wife of Sultans fast-bowling coach Azhar Mahmood jealous.

Ali Khan Tareen, who is associated with Multan Sultans, was also jubilant on finding a gem like Dahani.
