Pakistan Cricket Board Gets its First Female Director

Alia Zafar is an HR specialist and has been appointed for a two-year period

WEB DESK: Alia Zafar has been appointed as the first female director of the board of governors of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

In the in 60th meeting held at National High Performance Center in Lahore, Human Resources (HR) Executive Alia Zafar was appointed along with three other independent members Javed Kurieshi, Arif Saeed, and Aasim Wajid Jawad in accordance with PCB Constitution 2019.

Javed Kurieshi and Arif Saeed have been appointed as directors of the PCB Board of Governors (BoG) for a three-year period, while Aasim Wajid Jawad and Alia Zafar have been appointed for a two-year term.Picture Courtesy: PCB

The PCB Chairman Ehsan Mani welcomed the new members in the meeting.

“I appreciate their willingness to invest their time in cricket by sharing their insight and knowledge to help the PCB. I have no doubt that the board will benefit hugely from their presence on the BoG,” 

Alia Zafar has Master of Arts and MBA degrees. She is an HR specialist with experience in capacity-building, corporate governance, organizational design, and performance evaluation.
